"The
day I was born, people were running through the streets celebrating
and blowing sirens. It made my parents proud that so many were
excited that a future celebrity was born and the fact that they
knew about it just minutes after I arrived. It was May 8, 1945--VE-Day.
I started training for my future at the age of 5, standing in
my wagon using a hoe handle for a mike. By the time I was 24,
my high school speech teacher was bragging on how far I had advanced,
noting that I couldn't read when I was 18. I started by taking
out trash at KFTV in Paris, while organizing parties in Paris
Junior College dorm rooms. One party gained so much attention
that I landed a job at KMOO in Mineola. My first break came while
in Chicago. My uncle let me work on his radio station. Sam was
a great person to work for but I missed Northeast Texas. I returned
to Mt Pleasant, accidentally had two great kids and a hysterectomy.
They removed my wife by divorce. Here I am, enjoying life to the
fullest. The things that I've learned by taking trash out early
in my career has really paid off. It still amazes me the type
of information that is thrown away. The amount of trash I've gathered,
I expect to be here awhile." - Clint |
